Krishnamacharya's taught Hatha Yoga as a form of exercise and one of the key aspects is that of bandha. Bandha goes hand in hand with abdominal and core strength. These stabilise the Asāna practice and are the key to a life-long and fruitful Yoga practice. The first part of this three-part series begins with creating a sturdy abdomen. Building the fortress of abdominal muscles not only protects the body during practice, but it affects the way we carry ourselves through existence. Stoking the digestive fires symbolically means that we can process anything; that is why abdominal work feels so good. Some form of core exercise appears in all modern schools of Yoga and for teachers. But core requires a special attention in Yoga classes to keep the balance of pressures and transforming the abdomen with conscious sensitivity.    Each day begins with a powerful practice and then interactive discussion about the following topics:

-Uḍḍīyana bandha and Applying core during Asāna practice

-Effective teaching of the Core Yogāsanas

-Using core as daily practice, Warm-up, Warm-down,

-Muscular Anatomy of the Abdomen

-Breathing and controlling abdominal Pressure

-Kapālabhāti & Breath of Fire Relaxing the Belly and Pelvic floor

These courses are designed with home practice in mind and are perfectly suited to learn from the comfort of our own homes. This course contributes 10 hours to the Yoga Alliance Continuing Education requirements for Yoga Teachers.

For non-teachers, the course offers many benefits and the sessions pertaining to Yoga teaching are optional.   Scholarships are available for teachers who are passionate but have setbacks.
